Predictable Slow Start Dooms Tigers In Loss To Rivaled Rebels

In what has almost become expected so far this season the Memphis Tigers got off to yet another slow start against their opponents. This time trailing by as much as 17, down 26-9 with 9:23 remaining in the first half, the Tigers (7-3) fell to the Ole Miss Rebels (9-2) 85-79 Friday night in the FedEx Forum.

This year reignited the rivalry between Memphis and Ole Miss in both football and basketball. Norvell Enters Memphis Looking To Handle Unfinished Business

University of Memphis Athletic Director Tom Bowen didn’t waste time in selecting a suitable replacement for departing head coach Justin Fuente as new head coach Mike Norvell was introduced Friday afternoon. Norvell, the former offensive coordinator at Arizona St., comes to Memphis with big shoes to fill considering the Tigers recent success but saw the opportunity as one that he wanted to jump on immediately.
