Was Mariota's Bounce Back Game A Sign Of Things To Come?

Coming off a two-turnover performance in the preseason opening loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota soared the Titans to their first victory of the preseason over the St. Louis Rams. The rookie quarterback played a quarter and a half and finished the game throwing 5-for-8 for 59 yards with a 84.9 QB rating in the Titans 27-14 win. The more impressive statistic is that Mariota did not turn the ball over and wasn’t sacked either.

The Tennessee Titans enter Sunday’s matchup with the St. Louis Rams with numerous headlines. Marcus Mariota is looking to build on his first career start against the Atlanta Falcons. Ken Whisenhunt continues to change up the offensive line, looking for more fire from veterans. Veteran Jason McCourty has officially hit the field for recovery, looks for a return to the practice field soon. Former Titans head coach Jeff Fisher returns to Nashville to face his old team, along with a few former teammates in Kenny Britt, and Jared Cook.

The Other Guys: Quick Thoughts On The Titans Reserves

The Tennessee Titans had a rough night overall in Atlanta for their first preseason game, but there were some positive takeaways from last Friday. Although all eyes were understandably on potential franchise quarterback Marcus Mariotta and the starters, the Titans also had a solid backup group of players on the offensive side of the ball. A few players that caught my eye were, Zach Mettenburger, David Cobb, and Dexter McCluster. Seeing these guys battle for positions made this preseason matchup much more intriguing.
